Below the instruction to apply to the AI4CI master at CNAM, Paris.
For applications to the AI4CI master in apprenticeship (“alternance”) at CNAM Grand-Est, Mulhouse, the procedure will appear in the Mon Master platform later in 2024.
Application deadlines for 2024/2025
Extra-EU students requiring a visa application:
- Early – Campus-France application: February 28, 2024
(easier, faster and cheaper visa process, see FAQ page)
NB: for the Eiffel scholarship application before Nov. 30, 2023. - Late – University-level application deadline: May 31, 2024
EU students, or extra-EU students already possessing a valid visa at least covering until Jan 2024 (at least):
- Deadline: September 15, 2024
Requirements
The AI for Connected Industries Master admits students willing to pursue a master degree in English, and possessing a Bachelor in one of these fields: Computer Science, Electronics, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Software Engineering, ICT Engineering.
Late obtention of the bachelor degree until September is acceptable, provided transcripts of the last years are transmitted.
Admission is also possible at the M2 (2ndyear level) if you can justify 4 years of study in one of the fields above with equivalent M1 (1styear) courses.
English level certification:
The English level required is:
– B2 level for M1 (1styear),
– C1 level for M2 (2nd year).
Accordingly to the CEFRL level reference.
Certificates accepted: IELTS, TOEFL, BULATS, TOEIC, Cambridge EOL, PTE, FSI, DCL, CLES; see the equivalences accepted at Cnam here.
Nota bene: an English certificate is not required for :
– students from countries having English among the official languages.
– students coming from a university where English is the official teaching language (university certificate needed in this case).
Application items
- 2-page curriculum vitae (CV);
- copy of bachelor degree, and master/engineering degree (if any);
- score records of all previous degrees;
- signed motivation letter indicating if asking admission at the M1 or M2 level and if asking for a scholarship;
- English certificate (see above);
- coordinates (email, telephone, address) of two reference professors.
- passport.
For the Cnam application using the application form below, documents can be in English and/or French. Documents whose original language is not English or French should be translated to English or French.
Candidates with an extra-EU diploma, or an EU diploma from a private university, can also request a statement of equivalence (attestation de conformité) to the ENIC-NARIC service. It is not a compulsory item, but it can accelerate the application processing and increase the chances of getting a visa.
Application modalities

Students from universities having an agreement in place with Cnam should contact their local coordinator to file the application items.
In addition, students coming from outside the European Union and living in one of the countries with a Campus France local office should register in the “Etudes en France” platform (see below) as part of the pre-consular procedure for visa application. There are local Campus France offices in many countries that can offer you support with the application. This process eases the visa obtention process, often leads to lower visa application fees (depending on the consulate), and some consulates may not grant you visa if you do not apply via Campus France.
If the Campus France deadline has already passed, the university can still process your application and will instruct you on the alternative procedures for the VISA application.

If yes, create an account in https://pastel.diplomatie.gouv.fr/etudesenfrance.
Add the master to your list following the wizard window as below. Look for “Master in Artificial Intelligence for Connected Industries”. Select “Cnam Établissement Public – EPN5”.
Note that the “parallel procedure” mentioned in the platform (“Attention, procédure parallèle exigée par l’établissement“) is to submit your application using the above-mentioned application form.
Translation of documents to French:
Independently from the Cnam university application for which all the documents can be in English or translated to English, for your VISA application the local French authorities and Campus France offices often require a certified translation of degrees, certificates, diplomas and transcripts.
Before coming to France, you should also prepare a certified translation of the birth certificate and of insurances that will be asked for many administrative procedures (making them locally may be longer and more expensive).
Optional French language test:
even if the master is in English, you may asked by Campus France and/or consulate to provide a French language test as an optional additional element to your VISA application (having one could give you more points for your visa application procedure). If you do not have one and cannot do one easily, you can give the master program document mentioning there are two French as a Foreign Language courses to take, each of 6 ECTS (90 hours), one at the first year and one at the second year.
